Topic: Bacon Explosion

First hello all
I don't know if any of you have tried this but it is the bacon lovers dream.

2 pounds thick cut bacon
2 pounds Italian sausage
1 jar of your favorite barbeque sauce
1 jar of your favorite barbeque rub

make a 6X6 weave of bacon
flaten the sausage on top.
add rub.
cook the rest of the bacon and crumble it on top.
roll it on up
BBQ untilo done.
coat with sauce in the last 15-20 min. of cooking.

Wow!  That looks good!  Gotta go low and slow on that to render it, then up a bit to finish it....but WOW does that looks good!

Here is the way I roll them. Put sausage in a gallon size ziploc bag and then roll it out with a rolling pin. Place in freezer to firm up a bit. Then cut the sides of the ziploc bag and layout on a piece of plastic wrap.

Add ingredients

And then roll up carefully. Once you have it rolled up, hold the ends of the plastic wrap tightly and roll away from you repeatedly. This will tighten everything up and pinch the edges of the sausage together. Tuck the ends under the roll so it can't loosen up.

I then lay out another piece of plastic wrap for my bacon weave.

Unwrap the sausage and place it in the middle of the weave.

Then fold the weave over like I did with the sausage and use the same trick of rolling it while holding onto the ends so that it all tightens up.

And you can make a bunch of stuff this way. You don't even need the bacon per se.

This one is homemade italian sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, onion, pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese.

I roll it about the same I didn't use the bag just the cutting board.
We tried some cheese in the middle and WOW!!!!
I got to try your Pizza roll.
